I went out to collect the eggs today and had 8 eggs from the 11 of them - that is really good. However we had one slightly squashed shape egg from the Warrens which weighed 75g and one from the bantams which weighed just 7g! If I knew how to post a photo on here, I'd get the camera out so I could record little and large for posterity.

It certainly makes cooking interesting. "Beat three eggs" - yes, but what size of eggs? Three bantam mini eggs? Three double-yolk whopppers?

None of my current hens have ever laid a double yolker. There is something special about cracking an egg and finding two yolks. And my mini egg went into scrambled egg. I don't often make things where the size matters. You make cakes where the size does matter and I try to avoid making them except for special occasions because I am too ready to eat the cakes. I have a cup of tea and hear the cake tin calling to me :)
