I'm procrastinating by coming here to blog. I ought to be ironing a few shirts for next week but I feel like sitting down a bit first, so the shirts can wait for a bit.

We've booked a cottage for a week's holiday. Now, that is something to look forward to! This cottage is one we have been to before and we love the area. This time we will be able to explore a few new parts of the region and maybe revisit some old favourites. A treat like this is a good thing to be able to keep in the corners of your mind and take out and think about when you're feeling too tired or are down about something.

The hens finally started laying again in the middle of the week. The eggs were rather small to start with but they are back to normal now. The fluffballs (bantams) have continued to lay one between them each day. My husband cleaned them out this morning and let them out for a run round the garden as he did so. He was the one who had the run round the garden, though, because they didn't want to go back in their runs when he had finished. This afternoon, I let them out again. When I was ready to go back into the house, I just called them, opened their run and they all came and went in as nice as you please. My husband's face was a picture. Right, I am going to go and get that iron out now.
